Cleaning Your QEnergySpa ORB

Cleaning Your QEnergySpa ORB or Array

Cleaning the QEnergySpa To maintain your system in optimum condition, it is important to clean it, preferably after every use, between different people. If only you, every 3-4 uses. Outlined below are the factors that need to be considered when cleaning the Orb. Both in the clinic and in your home. We also recommend some tried and tested cleaning solutions that are currently available on the market.

Cleaning and Maintaining your Orb

When cleaning your Orb, four (4) factors need to be considered:

  • Hygiene – Avoid cross-contamination from one person to the next.
  • Presentation – A dirty Orb is not a good look in professional practice or clinic.
  • Energy Transfer – Remove all energetic properties of the previous person in the session, before embarking on a new session with a different individual.
  • Life of Orb – The longer that you soak your Orb in any solution, the shorter the life of the components of the Orb. So soak at a minimum.

To keep your QEnergySpa Orb clean, there are a few different methods

Cleaning in the Clinic

Following a session in a clinic or practice setting, it is recommended that you:

  • Rinse your Orb in clean warm water.
  • Place your Orb in a cleaning solution for a few seconds (this will ensure the removal of any deposit of sediment or mineral and energetic properties). It is strongly advised that you wear protective gloves when cleaning the Orb using the recommended cleaning solutions.
  • Rinse Orb vigorously in a container of warm water, to wash off the residual cleaning solution and place under fresh running warm water for 30 seconds (your Orb is ready for the next session).
  • At the end of the day, you may like to completely disassemble the Orb and leave it in the solution for 5 – 15 minutes. This is a good time to inspect all the components and replace the Rings and Tracks if needed. If the Orb shell and Centre Module are still dirty after the 15 minutes of soaking in solution; these parts can be soaked for longer.
  • Note: The field created during the session slowly alters the components. Over time the plastic becomes increasingly more brittle. Pulling the Orb apart regularly ensures that the components don’t adhere, making it difficult to pull apart.

Cleaning Solution: CLR

CLR Cleaning SolutionCLR (most supermarkets) This solution should be mixed as follows: One part (CLR) to two parts of water. This mixture can be stored in a re-sealable container and used many times before needing to be replaced. The solution when first mixed can be relatively aggressive and it is advised that you do not leave your Orb in this solution for longer than the recommended time period (15-30 minutes) as it may degrade Orb components prematurely. Once the solution has been used a few times, this aggressive nature diminishes. WARNING: Be aware that all of the above-mentioned cleaning solutions may damage the cupboard, stainless steel, floor, and benchtop surfaces, in their undiluted and diluted states. Hence, it is always a good idea to clean up spills as soon as they occur. We accept no liability for any damage or injury that may occur by the use of these solvents.

Cleaning Your Orb or Array

While stainless steel is corrosion RESISTANT (it is not corrosion-proof), the acid will eat through the metal and substantially decrease its life span. Cleaners such as vinegar do NOT remove the acid from the array, as vinegar itself is an acid. Only cleaners such as CLR or Lime-Away will remove the acid and mineral build-up from arrays after a session, which limits rusting/oxidation.  It is best to rinse your orb or array in tap water before cleaning. The residue material in the foot bath WILL stain towels, rugs, and carpet. You may also want to wrap your orb or array in an old towel to prevent drips. You can use the same towel you used to wipe off your feet after a session.

Cleaning Steps

1. You will need a reusable “Tupperware-style” food storage plastic container with a lid (approximately 40 oz.), deep enough to submerge the orb or array. We recommend CLR or Lime-Away, as it is easy to find in nearly every grocery store. It will be in the household cleaning products section. If you live in a country (such as Australia) where CLR cannot be found, use a cleaning product formulated for removing mineral build-ups and rust from metal.

2. Fill your container about halfway with your cleaner.

3. Fill the rest of the container with water (tap water is fine!), leaving about an inch of room for the orb to be inserted. You want a 50/50 mixture.

4. Place the orb or array into the plastic container so the solution is fully immersed. (Please note: Adding the MOHAWK part of the orb cable, or the end tips of the array cable into this cleaning solution will also keep your cable clean.

5. Soak the orb or array for 10-20 minutes ONLY. Be sure to set a TIMER.

6. Rinse the orb or array in tap water. Dry it off thoroughly and put the lid on your container, for future use. You can reuse the same cleaning solution over and over again, maybe up to 6 months.
Your orb or array is clean and ready to go for your next session. For future cleanings, you need only repeat steps 4-6.

A Natural Cleaning Solution

Lemon Juicer

  • Rinse your Orb in clean warm water.
  • Prepare your natural cleaning solution by adding 2 tbs. of salt to 1 liter of lemon juice.
  • Place your Orb in the cleaning solution for 5 minutes between sessions (this will ensure the removal of any deposit of sediment or mineral and energetic properties).
  • Rinse Orb vigorously in a container of warm water, to wash off the residual cleaning solution and place under fresh running warm water for 30 seconds (your Orb is ready for the next session).
  • At the end of the day, you may like to pull the Orb apart and leave it in the solution for 10 – 15 minutes. This is a good time to inspect all the components and replace the Rings & Tracks if needed. If the Orb shell and Centre Module are still dirty after the 15 minutes of soaking in solution; these parts can be soaked for longer.

In your home

For home users, the cleaning of the ORB may be carried out as described above. However, to lengthen the life of the ORB components, it is advisable to clean your Orb at a minimum, e.g. every time you replace your positive rings and track set. This will ensure that you do not get an excessive build-up of minerals and other deposits that may interfere with the proper function of your QEnergySpa. If however, more than one person is using the Orb, it is recommended that a solution is used between the different users to ensure that no energetic component from the previous person interferes with the session of the next person.

Maintenance

Plate and Track set replacement.
Water conditions play a large role in the erosion of the positive plates and track. For this reason, it is very difficult to put a time frame on when to replace. The easiest way to determine when to change the positive plates and track is to take a close inspection. Place your finger on the positive plates and track, if it bends, replace it as the metal has deteriorated. When replacing plates or taking the ORB apart please read the manual carefully & check the ORB quick reference guide.

PLEASE NOTE:
Array Plate Change Video When reassembling the Array (pictured) or the Orb, always ensure the top the positive ring is sitting on and touching the Positive track. The cable connector hood is fitted flush with the orb.

Transportation of the QEnergySpa.

Please take care of the QEnergySpa. Whenever the need arises to ship the system either uses the original Styrofoam box inside another bag or box. Sharp objects including other cardboard boxes can easily damage the Styrofoam box. QTE is not responsible for any damage that occurs through owner negligence. Protect the front of the QEnergySpa from knocks and scratches. The Attenuator (toggle) switch on the models 2100, 2500, 3024, 3100, and q36  is prone to damage from strong impacts. Place bubble wrap or foam over the switch whilst in the carry bag.

Watch the video below to understand cleaning instructions and disassemble and re-assemble the orb.
